Blog #11 Living for the future

If everyone lived with the future in mind we would definitely live differently. In the craziness of today, people live for the here and now, and barely think about tomorrow. We would all exercise, eat right, get plenty of sleep, be kind to one another, lower our stress levels, spend plenty of time outdoors getting fresh air, love more and hate less. All of these things and much more can help us in the future. We would all try to get our education so we could put away for the future. We would think about future generations and what we can do now to help them later. For some people, it takes a little longer to pull things together, and some people never do. Even as an adult, it is good to make goals and plans for the future. This helps give direction in our lives. Everyone can do something to help themselves out in the future. I am also speaking to myself when I give all of these examples!!!

Jenn- I think that your blog is great; you hit the nail right on the head. I have heard so many times live today as if it were your last. That is always in the back of my mind so it is really hard to live for the future when you are not real sure what exactly that might be or even if you will have much of future. Life is too short.

You're right that we never know what day will be our last day, but in that sense I guess living for the future would be to take such good care of yourself, enjoy yourself, do not stress out so much, and then you can hopefully live longer and fit everything in. The idea is to have a middle ground I think...since if you live like today is your last day, you cram too much in and will cause yourself to stress yourself into an early death, but if you enjoy it and relax you could have a lot of last days.

Jenn,

I agree with you completely! If people had their future in mind, the world would be a different place. Exercise would increase and healthy eating habits would be seen more frequently. I like that you talked about things other than just exercise and diets. You brought my attention to the good things like stopping and smelling the roses once in a while. I wish if anything people could take time to enjoy the great things in life.

I agree with you. I think a lot of times people stress and worry about a lot of things whereas if they would just take a step back and analyze it up against the big picture, they would realize that it's not something to go tear yourself up apart. A lot of things really rank pretty low in the whole scheme of life even though at that particular moment it might not seem so.
